Dr. Niraj Gupta

Dr. Niraj Gupta is Director Cardiology at Medanta Africare, Nairobi, Kenya.  He has over 16 years of experience in his fields of specialisation. His areas of expertise in Interventional Cardiology include FFR (fractional flow reserve), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) guided high-risk angioplasties including rotablation and CTO (coronary chronic total occlusion), Left main and Bifurcation and Endovuscular Interventions for which he has been trained in France, Japan, South Korea and India. He has been trained in Singapore for Cardiac device Implantations(PPI, ICD, CRT-D). He is also proficient in endovascular interventions and Pediatric Interventions like ASD & PDA Device closure, BAV, BPV, Coarctation Stenting.  Dr. Gupta has performed more than 4,000 angioplastis, 15,000 angiography procedures, 1000 FFRs, 500 IVUS, 100 OCT (optical coherence tomography) and 300 device implantations (PPI / ICD / CRT / CRT-D).

Dr. Niraj Gupta completed his graduation (MBBS) and post-graduation (MD Medicine) from PGIMS Rohtak. In addition he obtained the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) title in Cardiology from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in 2006. In the past he has served as Consultant Interventional Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (New Delhi) and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals (New Delhi), and as Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiology at Medanta - The Medicity (Gurgaon).

Dr. Niraj Gupta is a Fellow of a number of Indian and international bodies in the field of Cardiology. He is a member of the Cardiological Society of India and other associations, a teacher for DNB and PGDCC courses, and a visiting faculty at Nobel Medical Colelge in Nepal. Dr. Gupta has several publications to his name in national and international journals and textbooks.
